Rent A Car Koh Lanta – Lanta Car Rental Policy, Terms & Service Standards

Lanta Car Rental Policy – Rental Requirements
- Driver’s License: A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) is required for all foreign drivers. Thai nationals must present a valid Thai driving license.
- Age Requirement: Minimum age to rent is 21 years.
Lanta Car Rental Policy – Documents Needed:
- Passport (copy or original for optional hold)
- Valid driver’s license (IDP for tourists)
Security Deposit & Payment
- Deposit: A 5,000 THB refundable deposit is required. This can be paid in cash or by leaving your passport as a hold (optional).
- Payment: Full rental payment is due upon delivery of the vehicle. No advance payment is required for booking.
Lanta Car Rental Policy – Rental Periods
- Green Season (May–Sept): Regular rates apply
- High Season (Oct–Nov, Mar–Apr): Rates increase by 10%
- Peak Season (Dec–Feb): Rates increase by 15%
Rental is calculated per calendar day, not 24-hour periods.
Vehicle Condition & Cleanliness
- All cars are delivered clean, sanitized, and well-maintained.
- Please return the car in a reasonably clean condition.
- Excess dirt, trash, sand, or spills may result in a cleaning fee.
- No smoking inside the vehicle (cigarettes, cannabis, or strong odors like durian).
Fine: 5,000 THB for deep cleaning and air system deodorizing.
Lanta Car Rental Policy – Fuel Policy
- Fuel level must match the level provided at pickup.
- Fuel is not included in the rental rate. A refill charge may apply if returned with less fuel.
Insurance Coverage
- Basic third-party liability insurance is included in all rentals.
- Full insurance upgrades available upon request (additional fee).
In case of accident or damage, a police report must be filed immediately for insurance to be valid.
Lanta Car Rental Policy – Use Policy
- Vehicles are for use only on Koh Lanta Island.
- Only the registered renter is authorized to drive. Use by third parties is strictly prohibited.
- If the car is taken off the island or used by anyone other than the renter,
- The renter will be fully responsible for any incidents, accidents, or damage.
- No insurance coverage or roadside support will be provided in such cases.
Lanta Car Rental Policy – Delivery & Pick-Up
Free delivery within 7 km of our office.
300 THB delivery fee for:
- Saladan Pier
- Lanta Old Town
- Kantiang Bay
Delivery is arranged by appointment. Please be on time for handover.
Additional Services
- Baby Car Seat: 300 THB per use : Lost or damaged seat incurs a 3,000 THB replacement charge.
- Car with Driver: Available upon request (extra charge)
- Private Transfers: To/from Krabi Airport, Ao Nang, and other destinations
- Island Tours: Book sightseeing tours in comfort with our vehicle + driver package.
Vehicle Options & Daily Rates
(All rates exclude fuel and are based on self-drive rentals)
- Eco Car – 1,100 THB/day
- Sedan / SUV – 1,400 THB/day
- Pickup Truck – 1,600 THB/day
- Minivan – 1,800 THB/day
(Seasonal increases apply: +10% for High Season, +15% for Peak Season)
